Endoscopic mid-face lift

As we age, gravity and fat deflation rob us of facial fullness. One area in which these effects can be seen is the midface area. This is the area from the lower eyelids to the nasolabial folds, (the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth). Over time, the mid-face area descends and loses volume (flattens). This can make us appear more tired or older than we are.

An endoscopic mid face lift is designed to specifically address the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and to some degree, the area below the eyes. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The incisions are placed unnoticeably within the hairline of the temple area and on the inside of the mouth. With the use of the endoscope, the fat pads of the cheeks will be repositioned up and anchored with special sutures, over the cheekbones where they belong. This will reverse the first signs of aging and restore the youthful contour of the face.

As the mid face lift involves fewer regions than a full face lift the recovery time is shorter and the healing is faster. Pain and discomfort is not usually severe and this typically fades over a couple of days. Notice that this procedure cannot treat or modify the lower face (jowls) and neck making a full facelift for these areas necessary.
